Yarde Farm ice cream: award-winning luxury ice cream and sorbet, made in Devon

Yarde Farm has been crafting luxury ice cream and sorbet in Devon for over 30 years. Made with fresh South West double cream, real fruit and Italian gelato inclusions, the range covers timeless favourites, branded flavours and plant-based and gluten free options. Every tub scoops straight from the freezer at minus 18 degrees, so you can serve without a tempering cabinet. Available on your Bidfood order alongside everything else you buy.

Same  ·  Changed Header, nav and breadcrumb unchanged. The H1 is the main fix: "Yarde Farm" alone carries no product and no category, and the page sits third for its own brand name behind yardefarmicecream.co.uk and Instagram. It also misses the bigger term, since "yarde farm ice cream" runs at 740 a month against 450 for "yarde farm". The intro moves from third person to second, and picks up the fact that actually decides a listing: it scoops at minus 18 with no tempering cabinet.Hero image (New) The page opens straight into the H1 with no banner at all, which is out of step with the rest of Our range and gives an ice cream brand no visual entry point.Trust bar (New) Six marks, logos only. All are already on the live page or the sister site, sitting below the fold as list text. Eighteen awards across four schemes is exceptional evidence for a food brand and should be the first thing a buyer sees.

Why caterers choose Yarde Farm

Changed

The three "Extraordinary" blocks, kept but repaired: they currently sit as H4s underneath the Barke Farm heading, which is not their parent topic.

Extraordinary taste

Fresh South West double cream, clotted cream in selected flavours, Italian gelato inclusions with real fruit fillings, and plant-based and gluten free options across the range.

Extraordinary innovation

Branded flavours developed with nationally recognised names including Lotus Biscoff and Reese's Peanut Butter, plus new flavours every season.

Extraordinary support

A full range of branded point of sale, so your ice cream offer earns attention on the counter rather than sitting in the freezer.

  • Eighteen awards in 2026 alone: 2 Great Taste, 3 Taste of the West, 2 BFFF and 11 Golden Scoop, including a 5-star rating for Orange & Chocolate
  • The only UK ice cream licensed to manufacture with official Lotus Biscoff ingredients
  • BRC accredited production in Plympton, Devon
  • Scoops straight from the tub at minus 18 degrees, with no tempering cabinet needed
  • High quality ice cream at competitive foodservice prices
  • Delivered frozen with the rest of your Bidfood order
Changed Two fixes. Heading level: the three "Extraordinary" blocks are H4s nested under "Introducing Barke Farm", so the document outline currently says they describe dog ice cream. Promoted to H3 under a proper H2. Content: the award detail lives here as text as well as in the logo bar, because AI answers pull from text far more reliably than from images and the wholesale ice cream SERP already shows an AI Overview. Which scheme, which year and which flavour is the evidence; the logo alone is only recognition.

To confirm Exact tub sizes and formats stocked by Bidfood, and the current flavour count. Yarde Farm's own site refers to over 40 flavours, but we have left the number out until we can confirm what Bidfood actually lists.
New The page names a few flavours but never sets out the range, so it has almost no product vocabulary. Four blocks fix that and add four anchor points, and the closing line carries the priority internal link to /our-range/desserts/ice-cream/, which sits at position 8 for "wholesale ice cream suppliers". One for your development team: a Bidfood Direct search URL currently ranks fifth for "yarde farm".

Scooped & Served: dessert menu ideas

Changed

A collection of creative, on-trend dessert ideas designed to turn simple scoops into standout menu moments, from playful indulgence to premium twists and plant-based options.

Each concept is built to inspire menus, drive add-on spend and help you build desserts worth photographing.

Explore Scooped & Served
Photography of a finished Scooped & Served dessert. Currently this section has no image at all.
Changed Copy kept almost as written, because it is the strongest on the page. Two changes. The heading becomes descriptive, since "Turn every scoop into a standout moment" gives no clue that the section is the entry point to a dessert ideas child page. And it gains an image, because a block selling visual dessert concepts currently shows nothing.

Changed Both videos are kept and are a genuine asset, but they sit at the very top under H3s with no surrounding text, so a reader who does not press play learns nothing. Grouped under a heritage H2 with the Devon and Plympton detail written out, so the section works with the sound off. Extend the existing VideoObject markup with name, description, thumbnail, upload date and duration.

Barke Farm: iced treats for dogs

Changed

Made from real banana, apple and carrot, so it is gentle on the stomach and easy to digest, backed by a range of branded point of sale. A straightforward add-on for pubs, cafes and anywhere dog-friendly.

Changed Copy kept, destination changed. This is the only outbound link in the body and it points at yardefarmicecream.co.uk, which sits at position 1 for "yarde farm" while this page sits at 3. Sending readers and link equity to the site outranking you is the wrong direction. The dog-friendly angle is also a commercial hook for pubs and cafes that nothing else on the page connects to.

New Eight questions, all drawn from things the page raises without answering. Most can be answered from copy that already exists; three carry a detail we have flagged rather than guessed. A People Also Ask box appears on both relevant SERPs and the wholesale ice cream one also shows an AI Overview. Note that Google restricted FAQ rich results to government and health sites in 2023, so the markup is for AI extraction, not a SERP feature.

Changed The live page ends on a single "Become a customer" button, which serves new prospects and nobody else. Most people reading a brand page inside Our range are already Bidfood customers deciding whether to add a line. A reviewer line replaces what would normally be an author byline. This is not editorial content, so a writer credit adds little, but someone at Yarde Farm attesting that the allergen, free-from and specification claims are accurate is real expertise. The review date does most of the freshness work on its own.

Same Newsletter and footer unchanged. Worth noting that "Stay up to date with Bidfood" is the only H2 on the entire page. That is the clearest symptom of the heading problem: every actual content section sits at H3 or H4 beneath it.

What's changed, and why

Fibre Marketing. SERP and volume data pulled 2 September 2026 (Mangools, UK desktop). Page and site checks 3 September 2026.

The good news first. Unlike most brand pages, this one has genuinely strong evidence already on it: eighteen awards in 2026, BRC accreditation, a UK-exclusive Lotus Biscoff licence and two videos. Almost nothing here needs creating. It needs surfacing, structuring and linking.

Where the page is now

It ranks third for its own brand name, behind Yarde Farm's own site and an Instagram profile. It has one H2 on the whole page and that H2 is the newsletter block. It has no hero image, no accreditations above the fold, no FAQs, no in-copy internal links, no visible author, and no list of what the range actually contains. Its strongest evidence sits two thirds of the way down as a bullet list.

CheckedFound
SERP, "yarde farm" (450/mo, KD 33)yardefarmicecream.co.uk at 1, Instagram at 2, this page at 3. A Bidfood Direct search URL also ranks, at 5. Map Pack and People Also Ask present.
Brand term being missed"yarde farm ice cream" runs at 740/mo (KD 20) against 450 for "yarde farm". The larger term is absent from the title, the H1 and the URL.

LinksNo contextual links in the body. Zero referring domains to this URL. The only outbound body link goes to yardefarmicecream.co.uk, the site that outranks it. Bidfood's own Yarde Farm interview blog is not linked.
Existing trust evidenceAlready on the page but below the fold: 2 Great Taste, 3 Taste of the West, 2 BFFF and 11 Golden Scoop awards in 2026, and BRC accredited facilities. The UK-exclusive Lotus Biscoff licence appeared on an earlier version of the page but is not in the current copy.

What this page should be

The Yarde Farm brand and entity hub inside bidfood.co.uk, owning "yarde farm ice cream" and the Devon and clotted cream angles, converting existing Bidfood customers into Yarde Farm buyers, and passing relevance to /our-range/desserts/ice-cream/.

It should not chase "wholesale ice cream suppliers". Bidfood already holds that SERP with a purpose-built page. A second owned URL on the same query splits the signal.

One structural note that separates this from the Campbell Brothers page: Yarde Farm is an independent Devon manufacturer that Bidfood distributes, not a Bidfood own brand. That changes the schema and it changes the tone, and the current meta title calling it "Brand Solutions" muddles it.

URL unchanged, no redirects needed. Header, breadcrumb, newsletter, footer, the Scooped & Served child page and the existing WebPage, BreadcrumbList and VideoObject schema all stay.

Two smaller corrections: og:type is set to "article" on a brand page, and the page uses a ring character (−18◦C) rather than a degree symbol.

Before this can be built

Decisions for BidfoodInformation from Yarde Farm
Whether the Bidfood Direct search URL ranking fifth for the brand should be noindexed. A parameterised search page competing with this one is worth a dev review.

Where the Barke Farm link should point, given the current one sends readers to the site outranking us.

Adding a link to this page from the wholesale ice cream page and from the existing Yarde Farm interview blog.

Whether to build an on-site Barke Farm page.
Current BRC grade and certificate number.

Whether Ice Cream Alliance membership still holds. It appears on third-party directories but not on Yarde Farm's own site.

Whether plant-based and gluten free lines carry formal certification or are self-declared.

Exact tub sizes and formats Bidfood stocks, and the current flavour count.

What point of sale support includes and how to request it.

Author and reviewer names, roles and review date.

Each appears as an amber flag in the wireframe. We have deliberately left them blank rather than filling them with something plausible, because a plausible placeholder is the thing that gets built and published by accident.

Recommended schema

The page already carries WebPage, BreadcrumbList and VideoObject, and those stay. Below is what we would add or extend. Square brackets mark values still to be confirmed.

1. FAQPage

The one new type this page justifies. Add it once the FAQs are visible, marking up only questions a visitor can see, with answer text matching word for word.

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "FAQPage",
  "mainEntity": [
    {
      "@type": "Question",
      "name": "Do I need a scooping cabinet, or can I serve straight from the freezer?",
      "acceptedAnswer": {
        "@type": "Answer",
        "text": "Yarde Farm is designed to scoop straight from the tub at minus 18 degrees, so no tempering cabinet is required."
      }
    }
  ]
}

2. Extend the existing VideoObject markup

The videos are already marked up but minimally. The full property set is worth completing, because video is one of the few formats that still earns a distinct SERP treatment. Repeat for both videos.

{
  "@type": "VideoObject",
  "name": "Get the inside scoop on Yarde Farm",
  "description": "Behind the scenes with the Yarde Farm team in Devon.",
  "thumbnailUrl": "[thumbnail URL]",
  "uploadDate": "[YYYY-MM-DD]",
  "duration": "[ISO 8601, e.g. PT3M12S]",
  "embedUrl": "https://www.youtube.com/embed/JwAvkjfQSf4"
}

3. Two properties added to the existing WebPage node

Not a new block. These sit inside the WebPage node the template already outputs.

"reviewedBy": {
  "@type": "Person",
  "name": "[name]",
  "jobTitle": "[role]"
},
"dateModified": "[YYYY-MM-DD]"

On the awards: schema has an award property that would suit them well, but it only attaches to an Organization, Person or Product entity, and there is no Yarde Farm entity on this page. Adding one is outside the current position on entity markup, so for now the awards work as visible copy and logo alt text, which is where most of their value sits. Worth revisiting if that position changes.

Two expectations to set. FAQ rich results have been restricted to government and health sites since 2023, so that markup is groundwork for AI answers rather than a visible SERP feature. And we are not recommending Product, Offer, Review or AggregateRating: there are no prices on the page, and the customer video is a testimonial with no written review or rating behind it, so marking either up would risk a manual action.
